History & Lore

Yahweh (YHWH) is the personal name of God in the Hebrew Bible, revealed to Moses at the burning bush. The name is considered so sacred in Judaism that it is traditionally not pronounced, being replaced with Adonai (Lord) or HaShem (The Name). Yahweh is presented as the sole creator of the universe, the covenant-making God of Israel, and in monotheistic theology, the one true God.
